With a proactive client philosophy and deep technical expertise, the firm provides tax, accounting, and business advisory services focused on prompt personal service and client success. Role Description The Senior Tax Associate is a full-time, on-site position based in Shelton, CT. This role is responsible for preparing and reviewing individual, partnership, corporate, and trust tax returns, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations. The Senior Tax Associate will research tax issues, analyze financial data, and work with management related to tax planning opportunities. Day-to-day tasks include preparing tax and accounting workpapers, researching federal and state tax issues, and assisting with tax planning strategies for closely held businesses and their owners. Responsibilities also include maintaining up-to-date knowledge of tax law changes, mentoring junior staff, contributing to process improvements, and supporting the firm's commitment to high-quality client service. Qualifications Strong tax technical skills, including Tax Compliance and Tax Preparation for individuals and businesses (mostly partnerships) Strong understanding of accounting and preparation or workpapers, adjustments required, and reconciliations of accounts, etc. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license or CPA eligibility Ability to interpret and apply federal and state tax regulations Proficiency with tax and accounting software, as well as spreadsheet and document management tools Strong analytical, organizational, and time-management skills, with attention to detail and accuracy Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work with clients in a clear and down-to-earth manner Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and to manage multiple engagements and deadlines Compensation Range is commensurate with the candidate's level of experience.
