The Senior Tax Specialist plays a critical role in ensuring the organization's compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations while optimizing tax strategies to minimize liabilities. This position involves leading complex tax research, preparing and reviewing tax returns, and advising on tax planning opportunities to support business objectives. The Senior Tax Specialist collaborates closely with cross-functional teams, including finance, legal, and external advisors, to interpret tax laws and implement effective tax solutions. Additionally, this role requires staying current with evolving tax legislation and proactively identifying risks and opportunities to enhance the company's tax position. Ultimately, the Senior Tax Specialist contributes to the financial health and regulatory compliance of the organization by delivering expert tax guidance and strategic insights.Responsibilities:
Prepare, review, and file complex federal, state, and local tax returns accurately and timely. Develop and implement tax planning strategies to optimize tax liabilities and support business goals. Collaborate with internal departments and external advisors to ensure compliance and resolve tax-related issues. Monitor changes in tax legislation and assess their impact on the company's operations and tax obligations. Assist with tax audits and respond to inquiries from tax authorities.Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA certification or equivalent tax professional credential. Minimum of 7 years of experience in corporate tax compliance and planning. Strong knowledge of U.S. federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations. Proficiency in tax preparation software and Microsoft Office.Preferred Qualifications:
Master's degree in Taxation or related discipline. Experience working within the Professional, Scientific, and Technical Services industry. Familiarity with international tax regulations and transfer pricing. Demonstrated leadership experience in managing tax projects.
