Job Description:
A highly respected single-family office in New York City is seeking a Tax Director to lead complex tax matters for ultra-high-net-worth individuals, trusts, partnerships, and closely held entities. What You'll Do Lead all aspects of tax planning, compliance, and strategy for ultra-high-net-worth individuals and family entities Review and oversee complex federal, state, and local tax returns including Forms 1040, 1041, 1065, and related filings Advise on tax-efficient structures for investments, trusts, partnerships, and estate planning matters Partner closely with principals, external advisors, legal counsel, and investment professionals Identify tax savings opportunities and proactively manage tax risk Oversee tax projections, quarterly estimates, and year-end planning Mentor and develop junior tax professionals while helping improve internal processes and workflows Stay current on evolving tax legislation impacting HNW clients and family office operations Qualifications 10+ years of tax experience focused on high-net-worth individuals, trusts, partnerships, and private clients Strong background in public accounting, family office, or private client services Deep understanding of complex individual and fiduciary taxation CPA required; MST or JD/LLM is a plus Proven ability to manage sophisticated client relationships with professionalism and discretion Strong communication skills and a hands-on, collaborative approach Why This Opportunity Stands Out Exceptional quality of life with only 3 days per week in-office Highly visible role working directly with principals and senior leadership Stable, long-term environment
Compensation:
$175k/225k base + discretionary bonus Days in office: 3 days per week
