This position plays a key role in preparing tax returns for review, communicating with clients regarding missing information, assisting with notices and agency correspondence, and supporting firm operations including billing, bookkeeping support, and state filings. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys both client communication and technical tax/accounting work in a fast-paced accounting environment. Responsibilities Tax Preparation & Accounting Support Enter and prepare individual and business tax returns for reviewer completion Assist with bookkeeping and accounting-related projects as needed Work within QuickBooks Online and other accounting software platforms Identify missing information and communicate directly with clients regarding outstanding items Track return status and follow up to keep projects moving Client & Agency Communication Respond to client questions regarding tax documents, bookkeeping items, and notices Assist with federal, state, and local tax notice responses Contact tax agencies as needed regarding notices, payments, account questions, or filing issues Maintain professional communication with clients and agencies Billing & Administrative Support Prepare and process client billing Track invoices and assist with collections and follow-up as needed Maintain client records and workflow systems Assist with onboarding new clients and account setup Assist clients with linking financial accounts within QuickBooks Online Help obtain delegate/accountant access to client financial and credit card accounts when applicable State & Compliance Filings Prepare and submit Secretary of State filings Assist with annual reports, business registrations, and state compliance filings Prepare and file monthly, quarterly, and semi-annual sales tax filings Support payroll and withholding registrations when needed Qualifications Prior experience in an accounting, tax, bookkeeping, or administrative role preferred Basic understanding of tax returns and accounting terminology Experience with QuickBooks Online preferred Strong organizational and communication skills Ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities Comfortable communicating directly with clients and government agencies Experience with tax software preferred Desired Traits Detail-oriented Self-motivated Team-focused Strong follow-through Comfortable problem solving and asking questions when needed Position Type Full-time, in-office
