Job Description

Tax Senior Tax Senior Position Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented Tax Senior to lead tax compliance and planning for a diverse portfolio of individual and business clients. The Tax Senior will prepare complex federal, state, and local tax returns, identify tax-saving opportunities, review work of junior staff, and serve as a technical resource for clients and the firm. This role requires strong tax technical skills, proven accounting knowledge, and the ability to manage multiple engagements and deadlines. Key Responsibilities Prepare and review complex individual, partnership, corporate, trust, and exempt organization tax returns and related schedules. Perform tax research and provide recommendations on federal, state, and local tax issues to minimize client tax liability and manage risk. Manage multiple client engagements from planning through delivery, ensuring work is completed accurately and on time. Review and mentor staff accountants and tax associates, providing constructive feedback and training to ensure quality and efficiency. Coordinate with clients to collect necessary documentation, explain tax positions, and respond to inquiries during the year and throughout tax season. Assist with tax provision calculations, tax projections, and year-end tax planning strategies. Identify process improvements, contribute to workflow enhancements, and support adoption of tax technology and software. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of tax legislation, regulations, and industry best practices and communicate implications to clients and internal teams. Qualifications Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; Masters in Tax or Accounting or equivalent preferred. Minimum 3+ years of progressive tax experience in public accounting, corporate tax, or a tax advisory role, with demonstrable experience preparing complex returns. Required Active CPA or EA license or at least 2 parts passed of either exam Strong technical knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations. Proficiency in accounting principles and tax software (e.g., UltraTax, ProSystem fx, Drake, or similar) and Microsoft Excel. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical tax matters to clients and collaborate with internal teams. Proven experience supervising and mentoring junior staff and managing multiple engagements and deadlines.
