Others grow by keeping people. This one has done the second for a long time. This is an independent regional accounting and consulting firm with around 185 people, with the Indiana office acting as headquarters and home to most of the team. There's no private equity involvement and no outside ownership shaping decisions. Leadership sits close to the work and close to clients. It's common for people to join early in their careers and stay. Some have been with the firm for decades. That usually comes from steady expectations, strong mentoring, and real client exposure rather than being kept in the background preparing returns all day. What you'd be doing: Preparing and reviewing federal and state tax returns across individuals, partnerships and corporations Managing assignments from planning through completion Acting as a day to day contact for clients Identifying planning opportunities during compliance work Supporting and mentoring associates Contributing to engagement planning with the wider team What they're looking for: 2 to 5 years of public accounting tax experience CPA or EA completed or in progress Strong understanding of federal and state tax concepts Someone comfortable managing multiple projects at once An interest in developing junior staff and building client relationships Why people move here: Independent leadership with no outside ownership pressure Advisory exposure alongside compliance work Strong mentoring culture and clear progression High retention across the team Parking covered Half day Fridays outside busy season once hours have been met If you are just browsing the job boards and have not dusted off that resume yet, that is not a problem, you can give me a call first.
