Experience:
Currently pursuing a degree; no prior experience required The Tax Intern is a seasonal role built for students who want real, hands-on exposure to public accounting during busy season. You'll work directly alongside our accountants and seniors on live client engagements, preparing simpler returns, organizing source documents, and helping review first-pass work produced by our offshore preparation team. It's an immersive, mentored introduction to how a modern, tech-enabled CPA firm operates, and a direct pipeline into a full-time Tax Accountant role. Duties Assist in preparing individual (1040) and straightforward business returns under supervision. Organize, scan, and tie out client source documents and supporting schedules. Review and check first-pass returns and workpapers prepared by the offshore team. Perform basic tax research and summarize findings for review. Assemble client deliverables and support e-filing and deadline tracking. Maintain organized, well-documented engagement files that follow firm standards. Take ownership of feedback and apply review notes to sharpen your work quickly. Skills Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Solid grasp of accounting fundamentals and strong attention to detail. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and a willingness to learn professional tax software. Reliable, organized, and able to commit to busy-season hours (approximately late January through April). Nice to Have On track to meet the 150-hour CPA eligibility requirement. Prior internship, bookkeeping, or client-facing experience. Interest in pursuing the CPA or EA and a long-term career in tax. This paid internship is designed to provide a comprehensive learning experience that enhances your technical skills while immersing you in real-world financial projects.
