Job Description

If you're comfortable speaking on the phone, driven to achieve results and skilled at combining empathy with decisive action this position is ideal for you. In this role, you'll guide consumers in resolving overdue accounts through respectful and compliant conversations while also having the chance to earn commission for your achievements. About Us We're a third-party debt collection agency supporting clients with consumer account resolution and receivables recovery. Our approach is simple, treat people with respect, perform at a high level while staying compliant. You'll have structure, training and clear goals without the "Boiler Room" culture. The Role As a Debt Collection Representative , you'll manage a daily queue of accounts and work with consumers to set up solutions such as payment arrangements, settlements and follow-ups all while maintaining strict compliance with FDCPA and applicable state laws and company policies . You'll succeed here if you can: Build rapport quickly Navigate objections professionally Stay organized and consistent Close agreements and follow through What You'll Do (Day-to-Day) Make outbound and handle inbound calls to consumers regarding past-due accounts Provide clear accurate information and guide consumers toward resolution options Negotiate and secure payment arrangements (PDCs) and/or settlement terms within client guidelines Send compliant follow-ups via approved channels (phone/SMS where permitted and consented) Document every contact attempt, conversation and outcome in the system with strong notes Maintain high standards for identity verification and data security Work assigned account queues and meet daily/weekly performance targets Handle consumer concerns professionally and route complaints according to policy Collaborate with leadership/QA for coaching, call reviews and improvement What Success Looks Like Consistent contact rate and right-party contacts Strong conversion to commitments (arrangements/settlements) High payment reliability (kept promises) Clean, complete documentation and compliance-friendly calls Maintaining a professional tone in difficult conversations Requirements (Must Have) 1+ year in collections, call center, customer service, sales or another phone-heavy role (collections preferred) Reliable attendance and punctuality Strong communication skills, calm, clear and confident Ability to remain compliant and professional under pressure Comfortable using computers and CRM platforms Nice to Have (Not Required) Third-party collections experience (agency environment) Familiarity with FDCPA compliance, call recording standards and consumer verification steps Experience with reading guided script Negotiation experience and comfortable handling objections Experience with soft skip tracing Compensation & Perks Competitive hourly base + commission (uncapped potential) Paid training and coaching to help you ramp quickly Paid holidays and incentive rewards Supportive management and clear expectations Schedule Full-time (Monday-Friday) Daytime business hours ( Mon•
