Jobs › Erving, MA › Treasurer Town of Erving Treasurer Erving, MA Apply ERVING Treasurer The Town of Erving, Massachusetts seeks a collaborative and forward-thinking Treasurer to help guide the financial stewardship of a rural Massachusetts community with a strong sense of identity, natural beauty, and evolving economic opportunities and challenges. This leadership position has the responsibilities as defined in Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 32, 40, 41, 44 & 60 and is responsible for managing the town?s financial affairs, overseeing the deposit, investment and disbursement of all town funds to ensure the availability of liquid assets as necessary and performing all borrowing, tracking and repayment of notes and bonds, maintaining the Town?s bond rating, and the management of tax title foreclosures. Additionally, this position manages payrolls for all employees including benefits administration for active and retired employees. The position is part-time (25-30 hours per week) and benefited.

Qualifications Graduate of a four-year college with a bachelor?s degree in finance, accounting or a related field; three to five (3-5) years of related work experience; or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job. Special Requirements Certification as a Treasurer and Collector by the Massachusetts Collector/Treasurer Association preferred upon hire. Certification must be completed and maintained within three years of hire. Employee must be bonded on the date of appointment as is required by Massachusetts General Laws. Miscellaneous Information The successful candidate will have a CORI check conducted and must be able to be bonded in accordance with Massachusetts General Law.
