Description Revenue That Supports the City. Delinquent Revenue Assistant - Collections Division The City of Greensboro is seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Delinquent Revenue Assistant to support the Collections Division in the recovery and management of delinquent accounts. This position plays an important role in maintaining accurate records, assisting customers, and supporting the collection of outstanding debts related to parking violations, assessments, and miscellaneous billings. Personal background record and credit check will be conducted as part of the hiring process.•About the Department The Collections Division supports the City's financial stability by managing delinquent accounts and ensuring responsible recovery of outstanding revenue. The division works closely with customers, external agencies, and City departments to resolve account issues while maintaining professionalism, accuracy, and compliance with applicable policies and procedures. Identify, document, and support collection efforts for delinquent parking violations, miscellaneous billings, and special assessments Conduct skip tracing research to locate debtors and support collection activities Perform extensive research on NSF checks, delinquent assessments, and miscellaneous billing accounts Make initial collection calls before accounts are escalated to Delinquent Revenue Collectors Assist customers by resolving complaints and account concerns both by phone and in person Enter and update billing and assessment information within the CLCS assessment billing system Update records within the NC Debt Setoff application Coordinate regular file transfers with third-party collection agencies Prepare and maintain reports using Microsoft Word and Excel Support daily operations of the Collections Division through additional assigned duties Additional Position Details Position requires strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities Frequent customer interaction requires professionalism and effective communication skills Strong organizational, research, and data entry skills are essential Microsoft Word and Excel skills will be evaluated during the interview and screening process Requires adaptability and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment This job is Non-Exempt and is subject to the overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) Potential Career Path Employees in this role may advance into positions such as: Delinquent Revenue Specialist ? High School Diploma /G.E.D. 2+ years prior customer service experience in a professional office environment that includes both phone and face-to-face contact 1+ years prior or current delinquent collections experience Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel experience An Ideal Candidate Would Also Possess (Preferred Qualifications) : Associate Degree or higher CLCS Experience NC Debt Setoff Experience Experience working with City water/sewer, paving, and nuisance abatement assessments Requirements •Microsoft skills will be tested as part of the interview/screening process. •Similar jobs in Greensboro, NC
