Tax Technicians are para-professional positions that perform a wide variety of technical tasks associated with the Department of Revenue Oil and Gas Production Tax program. This is a supervisory position that manages the operations of the Oil and Gas Production Tax's examination unit and directs the work of two Tax Technicians. The position examines the timeliness, completeness, and accuracy of monthly production tax reports; payments; refunds; and annual production tax return filings in the Tax Division's system. The position also supports the audit group, provides customer service, attends trainings, and participates in testing and maintaining the Tax System.Our Mission, Values, and Culture:

The Oil and Gas Production Tax Technicians are instrumental in ensuring the accuracy of tax paid by performing regular reviews of tax filings from Alaska's oil and gas industry. Tax Technicians in the Oil and Gas Production Tax group are key employees in the group and the foundation for the audit team. The group administers the largest source of revenue for the Tax Division and one of the largest sources of revenue for the State of Alaska.The Working Environment You Can Expect:
We are located on the 5th floor of the Atwood Building (550 West 7th Avenue) in downtown Anchorage. This position has a private cubicle in a secure office and all desks are electric and can be raised to work standing up. Free parking is provided and the office is within walking distances to downtown amenities. Our team includes experienced, long term, dedicated, friendly, and knowledgeable staff. The Oil and Gas Production Tax group includes: three tax technician positions (the supervisor and two tax technician 1/2/3 positions), three lead auditors, eight auditor 1/2/3s, an Oil and Gas Revenue Specialist, and a Revenue Audit Supervisor.Who We Are Looking For:
