This role is critical in maintaining client relationships, ensuring case progress, and coordinating with internal teams and the IRS to achieve timely and effective outcomes. This position is ideal for someone with prior tax resolution or IRS collections experience who understands compliance requirements, case workflows, and how to manage clients through what is often a complex and sensitive process. Position Overview The Account Manager is responsible for managing a portfolio of tax resolution clients, serving as the primary point of contact throughout the engagement. This role involves gathering financial information, coordinating filings, monitoring case status, and communicating regularly with clients and the IRS. The Account Manager ensures that each case progresses efficiently while maintaining compliance with all applicable IRS guidelines and firm standards. Key Responsibilities & Qualifications Serve as the primary point of contact for clients engaged in tax resolution services Manage cases from onboarding through resolution, including Installment Agreements, Currently Not Collectible (CNC), Offers in Compromise, and Penalty Abatement Request, review, and analyze client financial documentation (e.g., income, expenses, assets, liabilities) Prepare and coordinate submission of required IRS forms (e.g., Form 433-A, 433-F, 656, 9465, etc.) Communicate directly with the IRS to follow up on submissions, respond to inquiries, and monitor case status Provide clients with clear updates, set expectations, and ensure timely responses to outstanding items Coordinate with internal departments (compliance, preparation, and negotiation teams) to ensure case progression Maintain accurate and detailed case notes and documentation within internal systems How to
