Tax Partner or Tax Director The Senior Tax Manager is responsible for leading complex tax compliance, planning, and advisory engagements for individuals, partnerships, corporations, S corporations, trusts, estates, and high-net-worth clients. This role serves as a trusted advisor to clients, manages engagement teams, reviews technical tax work, supports business development efforts, and helps ensure the delivery of high-quality client service in accordance with firm standards and applicable tax laws. Key Responsibilities
- Manage and review federal, state, and local tax compliance engagements for individuals, partnerships, corporations, S corporations, trusts, estates, and other entities.
- Provide strategic tax planning and consulting services to clients across a variety of industries.
- Research complex tax issues and prepare technical memoranda, client correspondence, and tax planning recommendations.
- Serve as a primary client contact, building trusted relationships and proactively identifying tax planning opportunities.
- Oversee engagement budgets, timelines, staffing, billing, and realization to ensure efficient and profitable service delivery.
- Review work prepared by associates, seniors, and managers, providing constructive feedback and technical coaching.
- Train, mentor, and develop tax professionals while supporting team performance and career growth.
- Assist with IRS and state tax notices, audits, examinations, and other tax authority correspondence.
- Monitor changes in tax laws and regulations and communicate relevant impacts to clients and internal teams.
- Collaborate with Tax Partners and firm leadership on client service strategy, risk management, and business development initiatives. Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, or a related field required; Master's in Taxation or related advanced degree preferred.
- Active CPA license required; EA or JD may be considered depending on experience and role focus.
- Typically 8 or more years of progressive tax experience, preferably in public accounting or a CPA firm environment.
- Strong technical knowledge of federal, state, and local tax rules, with experience serving closely held businesses, pass-through entities, corporations, and high-net-worth individuals.
- Demonstrated experience managing client relationships, engagement teams, deadlines, and multiple concurrent priorities.
- Proficiency with tax research tools, tax preparation software, Microsoft Excel, and related productivity applications. Skills and Competencies

- Experience with high-net-worth individuals, family offices, real estate, professional services, private equity, or closely held business clients.
- Experience with multi-state tax compliance and planning.
- Prior involvement in practice development, proposal support, networking, or client expansion efforts.
- Familiarity with tax software such as CCH Axcess, GoSystem, ProSystem fx, UltraTax, or similar platforms.
Compensation and Benefits Compensation will be commensurate with experience, credentials, location, and book of business or business development contribution, if applicable. Pay:
$185,000.00 - $285,797.06 per year
