Job Description About the Opportunity A well-established public accounting firm is seeking an experienced Tax Manager to join its growing team. This position offers the opportunity to work closely with closely held businesses, high-net-worth individuals, and a diverse client base while leading tax engagements, mentoring staff, and providing strategic tax planning and advisory services. Responsibilities Review and manage federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals, partnerships, corporations, trusts, and other entities. Lead complex tax engagements and ensure timely, accurate delivery of client work. Conduct and oversee tax research projects, providing practical solutions to complex tax matters. Collaborate with clients and internal teams on tax planning strategies and business advisory initiatives. Serve as a trusted advisor and primary point of contact for assigned clients. Manage and support responses to tax notices, audits, and examinations, including representation before taxing authorities when necessary. Supervise, mentor, and develop tax professionals through coaching, training, and performance feedback. Review workflow and staff assignments to ensure efficient completion of engagements and exceptional client service. Stay current on changes in tax legislation and communicate their impact to clients and team members. Participate in business development efforts, networking activities, and relationship-building initiatives. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field. CPA license preferred. 7+ years of public accounting tax experience with progressive responsibility. Experience reviewing complex individual and business tax returns. Prior experience representing clients before taxing authorities is preferred. Proven leadership experience supervising and mentoring staff. Strong technical tax research and planning capabilities.
