Information regarding the Office of the Treasurer-Tax Collector can be viewed at http://www.sdttc.com/ The Treasurer-Tax Collector is seeking a highly motivated individual with exceptional communication and organizational skills for the Assistant Manager, Treasurer-Tax Collector-Tax Collection position. The incumbent will report to a Tax Collections Manager and will be responsible for assisting in coordinating, directing and managing the daily operations of a division in the tax collection functions. This position is located at the County Administration Center (CAC), 1600 Pacific Highway, San Diego, CA; however, the incumbent may also assist in overseeing a small staff and the tax collection operations at a branch office. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting or Public Administration, possess strong supervisory and customer service skills, and demonstrate leadership, initiative, exceptional organization acumen and communication skills, and the ability to work well independently, as well as, with a team. Minimum Requirements A bachelor's degree from an accredited U.S. college or university, or a certified foreign studies equivalency in accounting, finance, business, public administration or a closely related field, AND two (2) years of experience performing progressively responsible technical work in tax collection applying the California Revenue and Taxation Code or accounting and finance. At least one (1) year of this experience must have been at the supervisory level, administering a tax collection or treasury operation of a multimillion-dollar business or agency; OR, Six (6) years of experience performing progressively responsible technical work in tax collection applying the California Revenue and Taxation Code or accounting and finance. At least two (2) years of this experience must have been at the supervisory level, administering a tax collection or treasury operation of a multimillion-dollar business or agency. Note A Certified Public Accountant (CPA) Certificate will be considered as meeting the education requirement. Possession of Certified Cash Manager Certificate from the National Certified Cash Management Association may substitute for one (1) year of the required experience. Required Licenses, Certifications or Registrations Required licenses, certifications and registrations must be maintained throughout employment in this class. Positions may involve necessary and timely transportation for field travel, requiring the ability to arrange transportation to different worksites, meetings, or field work.
