Company Overview Our client, a growing and dynamic organization, provides comprehensive financial advisory services to individuals and small to mid-sized businesses. Their offerings include financial planning, investment management, and tax advisory services tailored to client-specific goals. As they continue to expand, they are seeking a seasoned tax professional to lead and build out their tax function. Position Overview The Head of Tax will play a key leadership role in developing and scaling the firm's tax services offering. This individual will be responsible for overseeing tax preparation, compliance, and strategic tax planning initiatives while partnering closely with internal stakeholders to deliver holistic financial solutions to clients. This role offers the opportunity to build processes, mentor junior staff, and enhance the overall client experience. Key Responsibilities Oversee the preparation and review of individual and small business tax returns, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and tax efficiency Lead and develop the tax function, including mentoring and managing team members as the practice grows Provide proactive tax planning strategies to minimize liabilities and drive favorable financial outcomes Serve as a trusted advisor to clients by delivering timely, responsive, and high-quality service Stay current on tax laws, regulatory updates, and industry trends to inform client strategy Partner cross-functionally with advisory teams to support comprehensive financial planning initiatives Qualifications CPA or EA designation required Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (advanced degree preferred) 5+ years of experience in tax preparation, public accounting, or related environment Strong technical expertise in individual and small business tax, compliance, and planning Excellent communication skills with the ability to simplify complex tax concepts Demonstrated ability to build and maintain client relationships Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and quality Experience working in a collaborative, team-oriented environment Familiarity with professional tax software platforms is a plus Compensation & Benefits Base salary range: $125,000 - $145,000 Performance-based bonuses and incentives Comprehensive benefits package (health, retirement, PTO) Opportunity to lead and grow a key business function within a scaling organization Supportive and entrepreneurial team environment Application Status Applications for this role are accepted on an ongoing basis.
