Thorndale Partners is seeking an experienced Tax Manager for a growing opportunity in the Overland Park area. This role will serve as the lead tax professional in a newly established regional office, focusing on managing client relationships, supporting financial advisory teams, and helping build a full-service tax practice. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated tax professional looking to step into a leadership position with long-term growth potential and a path toward future equity participation. Primary Responsibilities Manage and oversee a portfolio of tax clients, including tax compliance and planning for individuals, partnerships, S corporations, C corporations, trusts, and estates. Serve as a trusted tax resource for financial advisors by participating in client meetings, answering tax-related questions, and supporting integrated planning discussions. Develop and strengthen client relationships within the local market through networking and referral opportunities. Collaborate with internal leadership and tax teams to support planning strategies, process improvements, and quality control initiatives. Assist in establishing and growing the local tax practice, including involvement in future hiring, onboarding, and mentoring efforts. Contribute to tax research, special projects, and additional client service initiatives as needed. Qualifications and Experience 4-6+ years of tax experience within a mid-sized or large public accounting firm. Strong technical knowledge of federal and state taxation for individuals and business entities, including partnerships, corporations, trusts, and estates. Active CPA license required. Proven ability to independently manage client relationships while maintaining professionalism and attention to detail. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex tax matters clearly and effectively. Entrepreneurial mindset with an interest in helping grow and develop a regional practice. Strong collaboration skills and the ability to work effectively across teams.
