Job Description
Description We are looking for an experienced and driven Corporate Senior Tax Manager to lead and develop the tax function for a growing organization in Southfield, Michigan. This role offers a unique opportunity to collaborate with executive leadership, shape tax strategies, and build scalable processes to support long-term growth. Responsibilities:
- Lead the preparation and review of tax accounting and reporting, including annual income tax provisions, in collaboration with external advisors.
- Oversee compliance with federal, state, local, and international tax requirements to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
- Manage relationships with external tax firms and consultants, ensuring optimal service and results.
- Develop and execute tax strategies to optimize the organization's financial performance.
- Evaluate and implement a unified tax solution for U.S. and international operations.
- Address tax audits, notices, and inquiries from regulatory agencies, ensuring compliance and resolution.
- Partner with executive leadership to align tax strategies with broader business objectives.
- Establish and enhance internal processes, controls, and systems to support the organization's growth and operational complexity.
- Provide guidance and leadership on tax-related matters across multi-entity and multi-state operations. Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.
- A minimum of 6 years of progressive experience in tax, with a background in public accounting and/or industry.
- Strong expertise in ASC 740 and tax provision processes.
- Comprehensive knowledge of corporate tax compliance, including multi-state and international tax environments.
- Proven ability to collaborate with and manage external tax service providers.
- Exceptional problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to operate strategically and execute hands-on tasks.
- Strong communication and leadership abilities to effectively partner with senior leadership.
- Experience in building and improving tax-related processes and systems.
