Job Description

Description & Requirements The Federal Tax Specialty brings a forward-thinking approach to strategic tax advisory, offering tailored solutions that go far beyond compliance. With deep expertise in federal tax law, they deliver value-driven planning, proactive risk management, and innovative strategies aligned with each client's objectives. Their multidisciplinary approach empowers businesses to optimize tax positions, manage costs effectively, and capitalize on growth opportunities.
What You Will Do:
Lead client engagements before the IRS, resolving complex issues related to federal interest computations, tax calculations, and account discrepancies. Drive strategic initiatives to expand and enhance the Tax Controversy and Procedure practice, identifying opportunities for innovation and growth. Oversee the preparation and review of intricate, multi-year federal tax and interest computations, including global interest netting studies and high-value refund claims. Spearhead internal and external knowledge-sharing efforts, contributing thought leadership on evolving and contentious tax matters. Partner with cross-functional teams to deliver tailored, high-impact tax solutions that align with client objectives and regulatory requirements. Mentor and develop junior professionals, providing technical guidance, performance feedback, and support in navigating complex tax controversy issues.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Taxation, or a related field 4.5+ years of experience in public accounting, or specialized expertise in federal interest computation and/or complex, multi-year federal tax calculations Proficiency with DMI (Decision Modeling, Inc.) Interest and Penalty software or similar interest-netting tools. Understanding of interest rules, regulations, revenue procedures, and IRS guidelines, with the ability to research and analyze complex scenarios. Current and valid CPA, EA, JD, or LLM credential Proficiency in
