Job Description

About the Opportunity Our client, a large and well-established U.S. organization, is seeking an Income Tax Accounting Manager to lead all aspects of income tax accounting and reporting. This role is responsible for monthly, quarterly, and year-end income tax provisions, SEC tax reporting, and coordination with third-party tax preparers for federal, state, and local income tax compliance. The position also plays a key role in managing audits and monitoring tax law changes. This is an on-site role based at the company's corporate headquarters in the Midwest. Key Responsibilities Lead, manage, and develop a team of tax professionals Prepare and/or review corporate income tax and franchise tax workpapers Coordinate closely with external tax advisors to ensure timely and accurate federal, state, and local tax filings Manage tax accounting method data, including fixed assets, inventory, and tax credits Oversee state transfer pricing studies and related documentation Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual global income tax provisions, journal entries, and account reconciliations Support preparation of the income tax footnote for audited financial statements Monitor tax law changes to identify planning opportunities and ensure ongoing compliance Research complex tax issues and provide well-reasoned recommendations to leadership Support income tax audits at the federal, state, and local levels Assist with U.S. international tax compliance and reporting requirements Review company records for personal property tax filings Maintain and update legal entity and organizational structure data for third-party reporting Perform additional duties as assigned Qualifications Required Bachelor's degree in Accounting Minimum of 6 years of corporate tax experience, gained in public accounting and/or a large corporate environment Experience with income tax provision software (e.g., OneSource or similar platforms) Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and SEC regulations related to income tax accounting Proven ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across functions Demonstrated experience developing and managing professional staff Advanced Excel skills Compensation & Benefits Competitive base salary and paid time off Equity or employee stock purchase program 401(k) with employer contributions beginning day one Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage Health and wellness programs Tuition and continuing education assistance Long-term career growth opportunities within a stable organization known for internal advancement Equal Opportunity Statement Our client is an equal opportunity employer and is committed to building an inclusive workplace.
