Job Description

We are a growing public accounting firm serving closely held businesses, high-net-worth individuals, and owner-operators across a range of industries. Our work is relationship-driven and hands-on, with direct exposure to clients and leadership. The Tax Supervisor will play a key role in managing client engagements, reviewing complex returns, and developing staff. This position sits between leadership and execution, giving you ownership over your work while still being close to the details. You'll be trusted to manage deadlines, communicate directly with clients, and ensure quality across engagements. Tax Supervisor Responsibilities:
Review federal and state tax returns for individuals, partnerships, S corporations, and C corporations Manage multiple client engagements simultaneously, ensuring deadlines and quality standards are met Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, handling questions, planning discussions, and ongoing communication Identify tax planning opportunities and proactively advise clients on strategies to minimize liability Supervise and mentor staff and senior accountants, reviewing work and providing feedback Assist with training and development of junior team members Coordinate with partners on complex tax matters and client deliverables Research technical tax issues and document conclusions Support tax projections, estimates, and year-end planning Ensure compliance with firm standards, processes, and regulatory requirements
Tax Supervisor Qualifications:
5-8+ years of public accounting tax experience Strong experience reviewing returns across individuals, partnerships, and corporations Solid understanding of federal and state tax regulations Experience managing client relationships and handling multiple engagements Strong communication skills with the ability to explain tax concepts to non-technical clients Ability to lead, mentor, and develop junior staff Comfortable working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment Experience with tax software such as CCH, ProSystem fx, or similar platforms
