Job Description

At Metzger Tax Service, our goal is to provide a low-pressure approach to personal and professional services. We are extremely proud of the high-quality services that our team provides. Role Overview We are looking for a highly experienced tax professional who has significant hands-on review experience and is comfortable operating as the final technical authority on returns during tax season.
The person will:
Lead and perform final review of individual and business returns Provide technical guidance to staff and ensure consistency in tax positions Help hire, train, and develop preparers and senior staff Assist with complex tax matters and IRS/state issues Help us build a scalable review structure as the firm grows Ideal Candidate Profile We are targeting someone who: Has 8-15+ years of tax experience Has extensive hands-on review experience (not just preparation) Has reviewed high volumes of returns during tax season (ideally hundreds to 1,000+ annually) Is strong with S-Corp and Partnership taxation Has experience managing or mentoring staff Is comfortable stepping into a leadership role within a growing platform CPA strongly preferred Candidates currently working as Senior Manager, Director, or experienced Manager-level reviewers in regional CPA firms would likely be strong fits.
