As an Accounting and Tax Manager, you'll be an integral part of our team, contributing to our continued success and playing a key role in the leadership and development of our tax staff. Role Description This is a full-time on-site role for an Accounting and Tax Manager at Ragland & Ames, LLC. As an Accounting and Tax Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing the tax functions, including preparing and reviewing income tax returns for individuals, partnerships, and corporations, preparing and analyzing tax-related financial statements, researching complex tax issues, performing and reviewing general ledger reconciliations, and providing strategic tax insights. As an Accounting and Tax Manager, you will also mentor junior tax staff, collaborate with clients, and provide expert advice on tax-related matters.

Responsibilities:

Review income tax returns for individuals, partnerships, and corporations Review tax-related financial statements Research and resolve complex tax issues Analyze financial data and provide strategic tax insights Mentor and supervise junior tax staff Collaborate with clients and provide expert tax advice Ensure compliance with tax regulations and standards Support business development initiatives

Required:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting CPA or EA 5+ years of experience in an accounting firm, with a focus on Tax Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Extensive knowledge of general ledger accounting and reconciliations Attention to detail and accuracy Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team Proven ability to multi-task and meet deadlines Strong leadership and mentoring skills

Preferred:

Desire to become a Partner Experience using Lacerte, UltraTax or CCH Tax software Proficiency in QuickBooks Trust and estate experience
