The Tax Manager will be responsible for managing client relationships, reviewing complex tax returns, providing tax planning and consulting services, mentoring staff, and ensuring the timely completion of tax engagements. This position requires strong technical tax knowledge, leadership skills, and a commitment to delivering exceptional client service. Essential Responsibilities Manage and review complex federal and state tax returns for individuals, partnerships, corporations, trusts, and nonprofit organizations. Provide proactive tax planning, consulting, and compliance services to clients. Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned clients and build strong, trusted relationships. Research tax issues and prepare written analyses and recommendations. Manage multiple engagements simultaneously while meeting deadlines and budget expectations. Review work prepared by staff and seniors, providing coaching, guidance, and constructive feedback. Mentor and develop team members through training and performance management. Assist partners with practice development and client retention efforts. Monitor changes in tax laws and regulations and communicate impacts to clients and staff. Coordinate and respond to IRS, state, and local tax notices and examinations. Participate in firm initiatives, process improvements, and strategic planning efforts. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting required. CPA license required. Minimum 7-10 years of recent public accounting tax experience. Strong knowledge of federal and state tax regulations. Experience reviewing complex tax returns and managing client engagements. Proven ability to supervise, mentor, and develop staff. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency with tax preparation and research software. Preferred Qualifications Experience with closely held businesses, high-net-worth individuals, and multi-state taxation. Experience with tax planning and advisory services. Business development and client relationship management experience.
