Job Description
Key Responsibilities Strategic Leadership:
Develop and execute goals for the tax practice to enhance service quality and business growth.
Complex Tax Planning:
Advise clients on high-stakes issues such as M&A structuring, international tax implications (transfer pricing, BEPS), and estate planning.
Practice Development:
Actively identify and pursue new business opportunities and "cross-sell" firm services to existing clients.
Technical Oversight:
Perform the final high-level review of complex federal, state, and international tax returns for corporations, partnerships, and high-net-worth individuals.
Team Mentorship:
Supervise, coach, and evaluate the performance of managers and associates, fostering a culture of technical excellence.
Audit Defense:
Represent clients in front of the IRS or state authorities during audits and negotiations.
Required Qualifications & Skills Education:
Bachelor's in Accounting (required); Master's in Taxation (MST) or Juris Doctor (JD/LLM) is highly preferred.
Certification:
Active CPA license.
Experience:
Typically 10-15 years of progressive tax experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership or managerial capacity.
Technical Proficiency:
Knowledge of GoSystems is preferred.
Soft Skills:
Exceptional communication skills to translate complex tax law into actionable business advice for non-accountant stakeholders.
