The ideal candidate will oversee preparation and review of federal and state tax returns, manage a team of tax professionals, and provide strategic tax guidance to minimize liabilities while ensuring compliance. This role requires strong technical tax knowledge, excellent client communication, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities Lead and manage the tax function, including preparation, review, and filing of federal and state tax returns for individuals, S-corporations, partnerships, and trusts. Supervise, mentor, and develop a team of tax professionals; delegate assignments, review work product, and provide performance feedback. Coordinate and manage tax compliance deadlines, extensions, payments, and client deliverables to ensure timely and accurate filings. Perform complex tax research and analysis to identify tax-saving opportunities, mitigate risk, and provide strategic planning recommendations to clients. Oversee tax provision and year-end tax activities; collaborate with accounting and audit teams as needed. Prepare clear, concise client communications and presentations explaining tax positions, planning strategies, and regulatory changes. Implement and maintain quality control procedures and best practices for tax workflows and documentation. Use tax software and financial systems to streamline processes and produce accurate returns and reports; maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant tax technology. Build and maintain strong client relationships; act as a primary point of contact for escalated tax issues and requests. Qualifications Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; Master of Taxation or equivalent advanced degree preferred. Minimum 5 years of progressive tax experience with at least 2 years in a supervisory or manager role, ideally in a public accounting or professional services environment. Demonstrated technical proficiency in taxation for trusts, individuals, S-corporations, and partnerships. Strong working knowledge of federal and state tax laws, regulations, and compliance requirements. Excellent leadership, project management, and client-facing communication skills. Proven ability to perform complex tax research and translate findings into practical client recommendations. Proficiency with tax preparation software (e.g., Lacerte, UltraTax, ProSeries) and advanced Excel skills.
Required:
Proven experience serving in a Tax Manager capacity.

active CPA license, Enrolled Agent (EA) credential, and specialized experience with trust taxation, individual returns, S-corporation and partnership tax filings.
