REMOTE Our client is a fully remote accounting firm with a strong focus on the entertainment industry. They are searching for a Tax Manager (CPA) to join their team ASAP!
Salary:
$110-140k base salary (flexible/based on experience) + annual bonus + full comprehensive benefits
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Tax Manager to oversee tax compliance, planning, and advisory services for a diverse portfolio of individual and business clients. This role requires a proactive professional who can navigate complex tax matters, provide strategic guidance, and ensure clients remain compliant with federal, state, and local tax regulations. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator, detail-oriented problem solver, and trusted advisor who thrives in a dynamic, client-focused environment.
Job Responsibilities:
Manage and review the preparation of individual, corporate, partnership, and other tax filings. Serve as a primary point of contact for clients regarding tax compliance, planning, and advisory matters. Analyze financial and tax information to identify potential risks, opportunities, and planning strategies. Conduct tax research and provide recommendations on complex tax issues. Coordinate and resolve inquiries, notices, audits, and other communications from tax authorities. Monitor client accounts to ensure compliance with filing and payment requirements. Assist clients with tax payment arrangements and resolution of outstanding tax liabilities when needed. Oversee payroll tax compliance and address payroll-related tax matters. Collaborate with internal teams to improve processes, workflows, and service delivery within the tax function. Stay current on tax law changes and communicate impacts to clients and stakeholders.
Qualifications:
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation required. Minimum of 5 years of progressive tax experience in public accounting, corporate tax, or a related environment. Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local tax regulations and compliance requirements. Experience managing tax audits, examinations, and interactions with taxing authorities. Ability to independently evaluate tax matters and make sound recommendations. Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex tax concepts to non-technical audiences. Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and professional judgment. Proficiency with tax preparation software, payroll systems, and accounting technology platforms.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience advising small to mid-sized businesses and high-net-worth individuals. Familiarity with payroll tax compliance and multi-state tax matters. Experience in improving operational processes and implementing efficiencies within a tax department. Strong client relationship management skills with a consultative approach to service.
