Job Description
The team Deloitte Tax's Washington National Tax (WNT) professionals offer unique insight into the many factors affecting taxation, from the tax policies that drive federal tax legislation to the technical nuances that may create compliance exposure or planning opportunities. Within WNT, the Credits & Incentives (C&I) team focuses on the interpretation and application of complex federal tax rules governing incentive-related provisions related to sustainability and community development. Professionals in this practice are a select group of specialists whose knowledge, skills, and experience are integral to helping clients and Deloitte teams navigate technical issues, manage risk, and respond to an increasingly sophisticated tax environment.
Qualifications Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Tax, Law, or a related field
- 3+ years of relevant tax experience in a consulting, law firm, or corporate tax environment
- Experience with federal tax credits and incentives, including technical research and analysis
- Ability to perform responsibilities in a hybrid work model with in-person presence 2-3 days per week
- Ability to travel up to 10%, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve
- Limited immigration sponsorship may be available
- One of the following accreditations: o Licensed CPA in the state of practice/primary office, if eligible to sit for the CPA o If not CPA eligible, licensed attorney o If not CPA eligible,
Enrolled Agent Preferred:
- Advanced degree such as MST, JD, or LLM in Taxation
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, including 6+ years of experience delivering clear, executive-ready written and oral communications
- Strong analytical abilities, including 5+ years of experience performing structured tax analysis and translating findings into clear, actionable recommendations The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs.
