Job Description

This Tax Manager will fully own the tax function for a growing construction company and be the go ‑to tax leader for a multi ‑state operation. This is a high ‑visibility role with real impact, autonomy, and long ‑term growth potential.

Key Responsibilities:
Own all federal, state, and local tax compliance across multiple states Prepare and oversee income tax filings, franchise taxes, and contractor licensing requirements Manage state unemployment tax compliance and multi‑state registrations Maintain good standing with top project states and ensure compliance across all active jurisdictions Oversee monthly tax entries, estimates, and close‑related tax activities Act as primary liaison and manager of the third‑party accounting and tax firm Support accounting close with tax-related guidance, including deferred tax assets and liabilities
Qualifications:
3-10 years of progressive tax experience, ideally within construction or contracting environments Strong multi‑state tax compliance experience (state, local, and federal) Solid accounting foundation with understanding of financial statements, debits, and credits Prior experience managing or coordinating with external accounting or tax firms
