Job Description

Company Overview Scheulen Patchett Edwards is a reputable public accounting firm established in 1983, dedicated to providing exceptional audit and advisory services. Summary We are seeking an experienced Tax Manager or Senior Tax Manager to join our team at Scheulen Patchett Edwards . This role is responsible for overseeing and managing tax functions, including reviewing income tax returns for individuals, partnerships, and corporations; preparing and analyzing tax-related financial statements; researching complex tax issues; performing and reviewing general ledger reconciliations; and providing strategic tax insights. The Tax Manager / Senior Tax Manager will also mentor junior tax staff, collaborate closely with clients, and provide expert guidance on tax-related matters. Senior Tax Manager candidates are expected to bring a higher level of technical depth, client leadership, and independent judgment.
Responsibilities:
Review income tax returns for individuals, partnerships, and corporations Prepare, analyze, and review tax-related financial statements Research and resolve complex tax issues Perform and review general ledger reconciliations Analyze financial data and provide strategic tax insights Mentor and supervise junior tax staff Collaborate with clients and provide expert tax advice Ensure compliance with tax regulations and standards Support business development initiatives
Required:
CPA or EA certification Bachelor's degree 5-10 years of experience in a public accounting firm with a focus on tax (10+ years for Senior Tax Manager) Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Extensive knowledge of general ledger accounting and reconciliations Attention to detail and accuracy Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team Proven ability to multi-task and meet deadlines Strong leadership and mentoring skills
Preferred:
Experience using UltraTax, Lacerte or CCH Proficiency in QuickBooks Trust and estate experience
