In this interview, you will have the opportunity to meet leaders, meet team members, and receive a tour of the office! Benefits As a full-time team member of the firm, you will be eligible to participate in several firm sponsored benefits. In addition, you will be entitled to accrue paid time off - starting at 120 hours each calendar year. We also close our office for 7 holidays, and have a floating holiday available for use as well. 401k Employee Retirement Savings Plan will be available after 6 months of employment and a minimum of 1000 hours. Employee directed pre-tax and ROTH contributions available. The 401k Employer Contribution begins on the 1st day of the quarter following six (6) months of employment with the firm. The company begins contributing a 3% Safe Harbor at that time, and employee contributions can begin at the same time. The company contributions are subject to a vesting schedule that are stated in the plan documents. 401k Rollover options from a previous employer plan are immediately available and encouraged. The Tax & Accounting Manager plays a critical leadership role, overseeing financial reporting, tax compliance, and division operations while guiding a team toward excellence. The ideal Tax & Accounting Manager is a proactive leader who combines strong technical expertise with excellent people management and client relationship skills. This individual thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment and is comfortable wearing multiple hats within a growing firm. This position requires a detail-oriented professional with exceptional organizational skills to manage multiple priorities and maintain strict regulatory compliance. As a proactive communicator, the manager fosters transparency and collaboration across departments. They lead with empathy and accountability, motivating team members to achieve both professional goals and key performance indicators. This individual is adept at navigating interpersonal dynamics and resolving issues with fairness and integrity, creating a positive and productive team environment. Duties/Responsibilities Conduct regular check-ins with staff to set goals, monitor workload, identify training needs, and celebrate achievements. Coordinate and oversee staff training and continuing education to support professional development. Evaluate and document internal processes, recommending improvements to enhance efficiency and consistency. Manage and update client engagements, ensuring timely communication and accurate documentation. Build and maintain strong, ongoing relationships with clients to support satisfaction and retention. Lead recruitment and hiring efforts for accounting staff, manage time-off requests, and provide constructive performance feedback. Manage and coordinate work assignments while monitoring progress and productivity to ensure deadlines and quality standards are met. Assist with practice management, client service initiatives, and operational planning. Assist with other duties as assigned. Required Skills/Abilities Proven ability to lead teams, foster collaboration, and drive results. Exceptional organizational skills with a keen eye for detail. Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines. Extensive knowledge of individual, business, partnership, and trust taxation. Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial statement preparation, and month-end processes. Experience reviewing tax returns and accounting work for accuracy and compliance. Hands-on manager that is willing to both oversee and actively participate in client work. Excellent verbal and written communication abilities. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and a variety of accounting software platforms. Education and Experience:
Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in accounting and tax preparation. Active CPA license is a plus; Enrolled Agent (EA) designation is a plus. Prior experience in team leadership or supervisory roles is preferred. Prior supervisory or management experience in a small to mid-sized firm preferred. Experience working directly with closely held businesses and high-net-worth individuals preferred. Experience with UltraTax software is highly desirable Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Travel Requirements:
Once per month maximum interstate travel.
