Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Accountant/Tax Preparer to join our financial team. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing and reviewing tax returns, managing accounting records, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. Your expertise will support clients and internal teams in achieving accurate financial reporting, effective tax planning, and strategic financial decision-making. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work across diverse accounting functions, including corporate accounting, non-profit accounting, and financial analysis, all while contributing to a collaborative and growth-oriented environment. Responsibilities Prepare individual, business, and estate tax returns with precision, ensuring compliance with current tax laws and regulations. Conduct detailed account reconciliations, balance sheet reconciliation, and general ledger accounting to maintain accurate financial records. Assist with financial statement preparation, analysis, and interpretation to support management decision-making. Manage accounts payable and receivable processes using various accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, and other financial tools. Perform audits and regulatory reporting in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) requirements. Support mergers & acquisitions activities through financial due diligence, asset management analysis, and transaction documentation. Provide comprehensive tax planning advice by leveraging expertise in tax accounting, wills, trusts & estate law, securities law, and LIHTC (Low-Income Housing Tax Credit). Conduct analysis of financial concepts such as debits & credits, double entry bookkeeping, budgeting, and financial software applications. Collaborate with clients or internal teams on financial report writing and interpretation to facilitate strategic planning. Maintain thorough documentation of all financial transactions while adhering to regulatory standards. Experience Proven experience in public accounting or corporate accounting roles with a focus on tax preparation or financial analysis. Demonstrated knowledge of GAAP standards, regulatory reporting requirements, and auditing procedures. Familiarity with various accounting software platforms including QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or similar tools. Strong understanding of complex financial concepts such as asset management, private equity, mergers & acquisitions, and non-profit accounting. Experience in handling payroll processing and accounts payable/receivable functions efficiently. Ability to interpret financial statements accurately while providing insightful analysis for strategic decision-making. Excellent attention to detail combined with strong analysis skills to ensure accuracy across all financial reports. $29.00 - $35.00 per hour
