We are currently looking for a Senior Tax Reviewer who is ready to step into a higher-impact role, someone who not only knows tax, but can confidently guide clients, review and sign returns, and help elevate the team around them. Position Summary The Senior Tax Reviewer will be responsible for reviewing individual and business tax returns, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely completion. The ideal candidate will have at least three years of hands-on tax preparation experience, be highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of working efficiently under deadlines, especially during the busy tax season. The right candidate must be able to handle a high volume of returns quickly and accurately, maintaining both speed and precision throughout the year. This is an on-site position in our Asheville office and requires flexibility and the ability to work extended hours and occasional weekends during tax season. What You'll Be Doing Prepare, review, and sign individual and business tax returns (1040, 1120, 1120S, 1065, 1041, 990) Lead client meetings to review returns and provide guidance Identify tax-saving opportunities and planning strategies Ensure accuracy, compliance, and high-quality deliverables Handle more complex tax situations and client questions Support IRS/state notices and correspondence Mentor junior team members and review their work Manage multiple deadlines during tax season without sacrificing quality Work collaboratively with other members of the accounting firm. Manage time effectively to handle a high volume of returns during tax season while maintaining accuracy and professionalism. What We're Looking For 3+ years of tax experience in a public accounting or multi-client environment Strong experience reviewing tax returns Confidence leading client conversations and explaining tax matters clearly Deep understanding of federal and state tax regulations Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to handle volume Someone who takes ownership and pride in their work Bonus Points If You Have PTIN (Preparer Tax Identification Number) required; EA (Enrolled Agent) or CPA license (strongly preferred) Experience working in a public accounting firm or multi-client environment.
