Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Tax Preparer and Accounting Specialist to join our financial team. In this role, you will play a vital part in managing tax preparation processes, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and supporting various accounting functions. Your expertise will help clients and the organization navigate complex financial concepts, optimize tax strategies, and maintain accurate financial records. Duties Prepare individual, corporate, partnership, and estate tax returns with precision and attention to detail Conduct comprehensive tax planning and advisory services, including estate planning and tax strategy development Perform account reconciliation, balance sheet reconciliation, and general ledger accounting to ensure accuracy of financial data Assist with auditing procedures, internal controls (including SOX compliance), and regulatory reporting requirements Manage accounts payable processes, payroll administration, and financial statement preparation using accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or similar platforms Analyze financial data to interpret financial report writing and support decision-making related to mergers & acquisitions, private equity investments, or asset management Support non-profit accounting activities and ensure adherence to GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and securities law regulations Conduct analysis of financial concepts such as debits & credits, double entry bookkeeping, and asset valuation to maintain precise records Collaborate on financial planning initiatives including budgeting, investment analysis, and financial services delivery Requirements Proven experience in tax experience with a strong understanding of tax accounting principles and regulations Solid knowledge of accounting standards such as GAAP and familiarity with SOX compliance requirements Proficiency in accounting software like ProSeries and QBO, QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or similar platforms; experience with financial software is highly desirable Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial reports and conduct thorough account analysis Excellent understanding of estate planning, wills & trusts law, securities law, and non-profit accounting practices Demonstrated ability in auditing procedures, balance sheet reconciliation, general ledger reconciliation, and regulatory reporting Knowledge of financial concepts such as mergers & acquisitions, private equity structures, asset management strategies, and financial planning techniques Effective communication skills for preparing detailed financial report writing and interpretation for diverse audiences Ability to handle multiple priorities efficiently while maintaining accuracy in a fast-paced environment Join us if you're passionate about leveraging your accounting expertise to make a meaningful impact!
