The certificate program is designed to teach adults new to tax the basics of how to prepare individual federal and state tax forms. The emphasis is on practical learning through in class exercises and real examples. Topics include preparing basic individual forms (tax credits, deductions and tax consequences); explaining 1040 series and wage income forms taxation for different types of income (investment, retirement, rental and small business) and more complex tax returns, including capital gains tax

Requirements:
  • Must be CPA/Enrolled Agent certified
  • Must have at least 5 years of practical tax preparing experience.
  • Must be familiar with the rules and regulations regarding state and federal taxes
  • Knowledge of new IRS Competency Exam
  • Must have college degree
  • Knowledge of PowerPoint required
  • Teaching experience a bonus
