Job Description

Tax Preparer Bowers Accountants & Advisors stands as a renowned firm in the realm of public accounting, distinguished for its provision of top-tier audit, assurance, and advisory services. Whether traditional Tax and Audit, Client Accounting Advisory Services, Business Valuation, Accounting/Bookkeeping, Forensic Accounting, or Financial Planning Services, our approach is to master an in-depth knowledge of our clients with innovative analysis and recommendations to build and maintain net growth. We have offices in Syracuse, Rochester, Ithaca and Watertown, New York. We are seeking a detail-oriented Tax Preparer to join our team. The Tax Preparer will be responsible for accurately preparing and filing tax returns for individuals and businesses. This role requires a strong understanding of tax regulations and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. This position has flexibility to be part time or full time or seasonal, and is an in the office position.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license preferred. Proven experience as a Tax Preparer or similar role. In-depth knowledge of tax laws and regulations. Proficient in tax preparation software and Microsoft Excel. Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
Responsibilities:
Collect and analyze financial information to prepare accurate tax returns. Ensure compliance with tax regulations by staying up to date on changes in tax laws. Communicate with clients to gather additional information and address any tax-related questions. Identify tax deductions and credits to minimize clients' tax liability. Maintain confidentiality of client information and sensitive financial data. Meet deadlines and prioritize workload effectively to deliver high-quality work.
