$100,000-$120,000 BOE +

Full-Time, Direct Hire CornerStone Professional Placement has partnered with a well-established public accounting firm seeking a Senior Tax Preparer & Auditor to manage a large book of business, review staff-prepared returns, and serve as a technical tax resource for clients and team members. This role is best suited for a senior-level tax professional with strong public accounting experience, advanced individual and business tax knowledge, and the ability to independently review complex returns. Key Responsibilities Prepare and review complex federal tax returns, including Forms 1040, 1065, 1120S, 1120, and trust returns Conduct technical reviews of staff-prepared tax returns for accuracy, compliance, and completeness Manage a high-volume client portfolio consisting of individual and closely held business clients Provide tax planning guidance and resolve complex tax questions for clients Review client financial records and accounting data using QuickBooks Research tax issues, respond to IRS notices, and assist with audit and compliance matters Partner with staff tax preparers to improve accuracy, efficiency, and overall quality of work Meet directly with clients and serve as a trusted advisor on tax-related matters Required Qualifications Active CPA or Enrolled Agent (EA) designation required 3+ years of recent public accounting experience within a CPA firm environment Strong experience preparing and reviewing Forms 1040, 1065, 1120S, and trust returns Advanced knowledge of partnerships, pass-through entities, S-Corporations, and small business taxation Experience reviewing the work of other tax professionals Strong technical tax research and problem-solving abilities QuickBooks experience required Excellent client-facing communication skills Preferred Qualifications Lacerte experience Prior leadership, mentoring, or workflow oversight experience Experience managing a high-volume tax workload during busy season Compensation & Benefits $100,000-$120,000 BOE Performance-based bonus potential (historically up to $15,000) 401(k) with company match Medical contribution available Monday-Friday schedule (8:00 AM-5:00 PM) Approximately 60-hour workweeks during peak tax season (March 1 - April 15) Stable workload with strong work-life balance outside of tax season
