Job Overview As a Tax Reviewer , you'll play a key role in ensuring the quality and integrity of our tax work. You'll review tax returns, financial statements, and supporting documents to ensure everything is accurate, complete, and compliant with current tax laws. Working closely with associates and leadership, you'll identify discrepancies, validate calculations and deductions, and provide clear guidance to keep everything on track. Success in this position is measured by accuracy of work, timely completion of reviews, compliance standards, client satisfaction, and the ability to maintain strong internal and external relationships. Essential Duties and Responsibilities - Other duties may be assigned: Review prepared tax returns, financial statements, and supporting documentation for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with IRS and state tax regulations. Identify missing information, unusual items, and inaccurate deductions or credits, and communicate necessary revisions to the preparer. Provide clear review notes, guidance, and constructive feedback to associates and team members to support accuracy and professional development. Identify opportunities for tax savings, including overlooked deductions, credits, and carryforwards, to help optimize client outcomes. Maintain accuracy while meeting established deadlines and productivity expectations. Communicate professionally with internal team members and, when appropriate, clients regarding tax-related questions or issues. Stay current on tax law changes and industry developments that may impact clients or the firm.
Education, Experience, Qualifications and Skills:
Bachelor's degree in accounting required. 3 to 5 + years of Public Accounting Experience. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license required. Prior tax return review experience required. Experience with partnership and corporate taxation required. Knowledge of tax software systems, including UltraTax CS, preferred. Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel required. Excellent verbal and written communication skills required Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment required
Physical Requirements:
This is largely a sedentary role; however, filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand as necessary.
Pay:
$100,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
