Job Description

This full-time, on-site Accountant/Tax Preparer role is based in our Rice Lake, WI office. The Accountant is responsible for preparing necessary financial statements, sales tax, and payroll reports for a dedicated portfolio of clients, as well as handling individual, partnership, and corporate tax preparation (managing approximately 200 to 500 returns based on complexity).
Key Responsibilities Financial Reporting:
Prepare Monthly Financial Statements, Budgets, Projections, Personal Financial Statements, and Not-for-Profit Compilation Reviews. Complete monthly Gross Profit Analyses and quarterly Ratio Analyses.
Tax Preparation & Compliance:
Manage seasonal individual and business tax workflows, utilizing the E-File system and federal/state online reporting sites. Stay current on tax law changes.
Client Relations:
Meet one-on-one with monthly and tax clients to gather information, clarify documentation, and explain financial findings clearly.
Payroll Support:
Maintain a general knowledge of the payroll program to retrieve reports; cross-train to process payroll when the payroll clerk is unavailable.
Operational Excellence:
Verify that GAAP (generally accepted accounting principles) are followed in all policies and procedures. Continually review current processes to eliminate technological redundancies and improve future efficiencies.
Schedule & Hours Off-Season:
Flexible Schedule Between Hours of:
Monday•Thursday 7:00am-6:00pm and Fridays 7:00am•12:00pm, 40 hours per week
Tax Season:
Monday•Friday, 49 hours/54 hours Week 1: 49 hours (Monday•Friday) Week 2: 54 hours (Includes a mandatory Saturday shift)
Qualifications Education:
4-year Accounting Degree OR a 2-year accounting degree combined with relevant professional work experience.
Software Proficiency:
Strong proficiency in QuickBooks Desktop and QuickBooks Online , as well as tax software and digital reporting tools.
Skills:
Excellent communication (oral and written), strong organizational abilities, and human relations skills.
Requirements:
Tax preparation experience is required. Must complete a minimum of 8 CPE credits annually (firm-assisted). Must adhere to firm Standards of Conduct.
Pay:
$55,000.00•$60,000.00 per year
