Teller Specialist
DEPARTMENT

Head Teller, Assistant Branch Manager or Branch Manager
SUPERVISES
No Supervisory Responsibilities
JOB SUMMARY
Provide customers with exceptional service and is responsible for the accurate and safe handling of various transactions such as cashing checks, depositing money and accepting loan payments. Follows basic cash operating procedures which entail counting and documenting cash that is given or received via customer or vault transactions.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Count and document cash received Ensure proper balancing of cash drawer and accuracy of transactions; secure cash drawer at all times Accept deposits and withdrawals on checking and savings accounts Accept payments on loans and safe deposit boxes Verifies customers' identities Assist customers with discrepancies on their accounts; Prepare proper documentation for discrepancies or refer to Branch Specialist Issue official checks and money orders Assist with balancing of vault Other duties as assigned This position is considered non-exempt and is eligible for overtime for hours worked in excess of 40 per week under the Fair Labor Standards Act.
QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or GED equivalent 6 months cash handling experience Ability to work Saturdays (rotation) Excellent customer service, communication and listening skills Strong math skills and attention to detail Ability to use a computer and banking applications on a regular basis Ability to travel to other locations to accommodate temporary needs
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
1-year of financial services experience
SKILLS & COMPETENCIES
Patience and ability to remain calm and professional Must establish and maintain effective working relationships Working knowledge of general office equipment Requires extended periods of walking, sitting or standing Requires frequent bending or stooping Ability to transport/lift up to 50 lbs. Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity Ability to handle stress Regular and predictable attendance Requires extensive public contact Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner Ability to maintain confidentiality May be called upon from time to time to participate with community organizations and projects Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
