Job Description
The hours for this position are Monday-Friday 3pm to 6pm and Saturdays from 8am to 12pm. Perfect for a high school student or college student. This is NOT a seasonal position.
Job Summary:
Provides prompt, efficient, and friendly services to customers and to recognize customers' needs with suggestions appropriate to the Bank's services. Expected to deliver customer service as outlined in our "customer pledge" and "customer service standards" and adhere to our "code of conduct". Requires a sound knowledge of established procedures, methods, and practices. Follows the established policies and procedures for this area.PRIMARY DUTIES
General Responsibilities- Greet and assist customers in person and by phone in a professional and courteous manner.
- Explain and promote bank products and services, helping customers select options that meet their needs.
- Maintain confidentiality of customer accounts and sensitive information at all times.
- Routinely monitor and respond to internal bank emails and communications within appropriate time frames.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and well supplied work area. Teller Responsibilities
- Accept and accurately process transactions for deposit and loan accounts.
- Process money orders, cashier's checks, and other bank services.
- Complete customer change orders.
- Process credit card cash advances.
- Ensure accuracy by reviewing work for errors or encoding needs prior to scanning.
- Scan all teller work for processing.
- Use Image Center to review or research proof items and make corrections as needed.
- Perform routine ATM service requirements.
- Under dual control, process night deposits, drop-off deposits, and mail-in deposits.
- Respond to customer inquiries in person or by phone in a timely and professional manner.
- Balance cash drawer daily, maintain appropriate cash levels, and ensure cash drawers remain secure.
- Maintain a high standard of safety and security within teller operations.
- Clean and maintain teller equipment—including coin counters and scanners—regularly.
- Assist with incoming phone call management for the branch. Other Responsibilities
- Complete all required annual training.
- Participate actively in community activities representing the bank.
- Engage in bank-sponsored activities when possible.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor that support bank operations.
SKILL REQUIREMENTS
Required Qualifications- Ability to perform all over the counter customer services accurately and efficiently.
- Demonstrates consistent accuracy, alertness, good judgment, courtesy, tact, patience, and professionalism.
- Maintains confidentiality of all bank records, customer information, and transactions at all times.
- Upholds a high degree of personal integrity in daily responsibilities and interactions.
- Exercises independent judgment and decision making ability within established guidelines. Preferred Qualifications
- Seeks guidance from more experienced or higher level tellers for advanced decisions outside current skill level.
- Ability to recognize when situations require escalation to senior staff.
- Demonstrates developing confidence and initiative within the teller role.
