Job Description

Member Services Representative (Teller) Full time ~ 40 hours/week Some overtime may be required
SUMMARY:
At Billings Federal Credit Union our Member Service Representatives consistently provide an atmosphere of high-quality member service. We accurately perform teller-related transactions for members while maintaining accurate transactional records in accordance with credit union policies and procedures. This is a full-time, 40 hours/week, position. This position is on-site only.
MSRs:
Explain and cross-sell products and services that are available at the Credit Union Answer member questions and direct unanswerable questions to the appropriate department Ensure that all information and transactions regarding Credit Union members are kept confidential Maintain a courteous and professional attitude with all people, including fellow employees, members, management, staff, board members, and outside vendors Count, verify and package coins and currency Perform all forms of over-the-counter and mail transactions Balance cash drawer to teller close report. Research and resolve balancing discrepancies Examine checks for endorsements and negotiability Process checks and other documents through imaging system as required for retention compliance Maintain current knowledge of Credit Union philosophy and all Credit Union services, policies, and procedures Strictly adhere to established security and regulatory procedures Maintain the security of the work area and ensure that it presents an organized and neat appearance These duties are normal for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.
TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or the equivalent
  • required Experience in a position involving extensive public contact
  • required Cash handling experience
  • required Retail sales background
  • preferred Employment experience in a Financial Institution
  • preferred KNOWLEDGE and
ABILITIES
Excellent oral and communication skills Basic bookkeeping principles Ability to operate a personal computer Ability to operate an adding machine Ability to follow oral and written instructions
SPECIAL FACTORS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Requires being under constant pressure for absolute accuracy within time limitations Requires working with frequent interruptions Commitment to hours required of this position: Mon
  • Fri; between 7:30am
  • 6:30pm; 40 hours/week Ability to lift and/or carry up to 50 pounds Stooping; kneeling; crouching; and reaching below, at, and over shoulder level required Sitting
  • 10%; standing and walking
  • 90% Hearing, visual, and verbal ability required
