Job Description
Position Summary:
A Universal Teller will serve for dual purposes. The candidate's primary role is that of a Universal Teller, with some Universal Banker responsibilities. Your responsibilities will include performing teller/Video Teller and administrative functions, assisting and directing customers both in person and over the phone, opening and maintaining accounts, processing transactions, and identifying customer needs while cross selling our bank's products and services. This position requires employees to work a rotating Saturday schedule. May require working at another locations, depending on staffing needs.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide exceptional customer service by assisting customers in a positive, friendly, helpful and timely manner
- Thorough understanding of the Bank's products and services, along with the ability to identify the needs of our new and existing customers and effectively communicate all the options available to them
- Provide teller assistance by performing various transactions, such as deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, and check cashing. Issue and remit cashier checks, money orders, VISA gift cards, print statements and other documents as needed
- Assist customers with entry to their safe deposit box, ensuring all procedures are followed
- Verify and balance cash drawer on a regular basis and balance branch totals at the end of each day.
- Assist in ordering, receiving, verifying, distributing, and transporting cash
- Record and process incoming mail payments and night drops
- Responsible for open and closing procedures, to include, but not limited to, reconciling coin, vault, and securing the building
- Submit money order purchases, prepare debit card orders, check orders, and knowledge of Loomis orders
- Responsible for 2nd review of account opening packets
- Service ITMs (Settlement, reload cash, retract checks/cash, jams)
- Complete and submit Wire request forms
- Assist in opening accounts for existing customers (single/joint accounts), CD renewals, in addition to safe deposit box opening/closings and Online Account Applications
- Ensure proper identification and verification, providing appropriate disclosures, and preparing paperwork in accordance with internal policies and compliance.
- Edit customer information in profile to maintain accurate and updated records.
- Works closely with Managers to assist with employee training and development plans as needed
- Promote and maintain positive relations with co-workers, customers and potential customers
- Maintain confidentiality of customer account information and comply with all department and company policies and procedures
- Meet or exceeds established referral and relationship building objectives for both consumer and business customers
- Answer and assist incoming calls with questions and requests, route callers appropriately
- Complete Annual Compliance and Security Training. Attend ongoing training and educational opportunities
- Various duties as assigned
Occasional Duties and Responsibilities:
- Work as a teller at any given location.
- Ability to work before or after normal business hours to attend various employee meetings and training sessions.
Working Conditions:
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift and carry cash drawers weighing up to 20 pounds. Ability to sit/stand for extended periods of time as job demands. The ability to occasionally lift and carry coin bags weighing up to 50 pounds.Mental Requirements:
Basic math competency/problem solving ability.Working/Environmental Conditions:

Education/Experience:
High School Diploma/GED Equivalent required; post-secondary education is a plus- Knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Excel & Word
