Executive Director / CEO About Us Mat-Su Services for Children and Adults (MSSCA) is a mission-driven 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to supporting individuals and families across the Mat-Su region. Since 1985, MSSCA has provided home- and community-based services to individuals with developmental disabilities, children with developmental delays, and their families. Position Summary We are seeking a strategic and mission-aligned Finance Director to lead all financial operations, including revenue cycle oversight, payroll, tax compliance, and financial planning. This role is critical in ensuring the long-term sustainability of MSSCA while supporting a culture that values employee well-being, ethical practices, and high-quality care delivery. Key Responsibilities Strategic & Organizational Leadership Partner with executive, clinical, and program leadership to align financial strategy with MSSCA's mission of community-based care and inclusion Lead long-range financial planning to support sustainable growth and increasing service demand Advise the Board of Directors on financial performance, risks, and strategic opportunities Revenue Cycle & Financial Operations Oversee Medicaid waiver billing, grants, and funding streams tied to community-based services Monitor key financial and operational metrics (AR, denial rates, payer mix, utilization) Identify and resolve revenue leakage while maintaining compliance and service quality Payroll & Employee Financial Well-Being Ensure accurate, timely payroll for a diverse workforce including direct service providers Oversee compensation structures that support recruitment, retention, and equity Promote transparency and responsiveness in payroll practices to strengthen employee trust Tax Compliance & Regulatory Oversight Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations and nonprofit reporting requirements Oversee payroll tax reporting, audits, and filings Maintain strong internal controls and compliance with Medicaid, HIPAA, and labor regulations Compliance, Risk & Audit Management Lead financial and operational audits (Medicaid, IRS, state, and grant compliance) Strengthen internal controls across billing, payroll, and financial reporting Foster a culture of accountability, ethics, and continuous improvement Technology & Process Improvement Evaluate and implement financial, billing, and payroll systems that improve efficiency and transparency Leverage data and analytics to inform decision-making and operational improvements Team Leadership Build and mentor a high-performing finance and payroll team Promote a collaborative, mission-driven culture aligned with MSSCA values Qualifications Proven experience as a CFO, Finance Director, or senior financial leader in healthcare, nonprofit, or human services organizations Strong expertise in Medicaid billing, revenue cycle management, payroll operations, and tax compliance Experience in multi-program or community-based service environments preferred Demonstrated commitment to mission-driven leadership and employee well-being Knowledge of nonprofit finance, grants management, and regulatory requirements CPA, MBA, or equivalent advanced degree preferred Why Join MSSCA?
