Job Description

Hardy Corporation, a mechanical service contractor for over 75 years, has an opportunity for an Assistant Controller to join our team, reporting to the Controller. Ownership of the monthly close and reconciliation process to ensure accurate and timely reporting Prepare monthly financial reporting package to Controller Lead bi-weekly and quarterly accounting team meetings using EOS/L10 structure Identify discrepancies and proactively resolve accounting issues Maintain accountability for balance sheet integrity and cash accuracy Assist with job cost analysis, WIP schedules, and project financial reviews Support construction-related accounting processes including retainage and contract billing/collections Filing state and federal taxes monthly, quarterly, yearly Process yearly W-2 forms, 1099 and 1095's Preparing Year End Financials, working closely with outside CPA Assist with Monthly Forecasting and Annual Budget Assisting the Controller as needed
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in accounting preferred 5+ years of accounting experience Construction Accounting background preferred Advanced Excel skills preferred Experience with Spectrum/Viewpoint or construction ERP systems Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal Working knowledge of GAAP Strong numeracy and analytical skills Good problem-solving and time management skills Highly organized and detail-oriented Willing to adjust for departmental workload changes Ability to work efficiently and multitask Success in This Role Looks Like Monthly closes completed accurately and on time Bank and balance sheet reconciliations consistently maintained Financial reports delivered timely to management Accounting issues identified and resolved proactively Strong communication and accountability within the accounting team Reliable support for leadership decision-making Benefits Competitive compensation based on experience Medical insurance with company-paid portion 401(k) with 4.5% company match Paid Time Off and Paid Holidays Bereavement Leave Maternity & Paternity Leave Stable, family-oriented company culture Opportunities for professional growth and advancement
