Job Description Controller Thornton Area | Full-Time A growing industrial construction and services company in the northern Denver area is seeking a hands-on Controller to help support the next phase of company growth and operational expansion. This is a highly visible role partnering closely with leadership and operations teams to help strengthen accounting processes, improve reporting, and support a growing multi-entity environment. The company specializes in industrial construction services including steel, piping, fabrication, equipment installation, millwright services, and related project-based operations. This opportunity is ideal for someone coming from a construction, industrial services, specialty contractor, or project-based accounting environment who enjoys being both strategic and hands-on. What You'll Be Doing
  • Lead month-end and year-end close processes
  • Oversee general ledger, AP/AR, payroll, and job costing functions
  • Manage WIP reporting and percentage-of-completion accounting
  • Partner with Project Managers and Operations teams on project financials and cost tracking
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and financial reporting
  • Improve accounting workflows, reporting accuracy, and internal controls
  • Assist with audit coordination, compliance, and multi-entity accounting processes
  • Help support continued operational growth and accounting infrastructure improvements What They're Looking For
  • 7+ years of accounting/finance experience in construction, industrial services, manufacturing, or another project-based environment
  • Strong experience with job costing, WIP reporting, and construction accounting operations
  • Experience managing month-end close and financial reporting processes
  • Knowledge of GAAP and project accounting principles
  • ERP/accounting systems experience (Viewpoint, Sage, CMiC, ComputerEase, or similar preferred)
  • CPA or CPA-track background is a big plus, but not required
  • Strong communication skills and ability to partner cross-functionally with operations and leadership Why This Opportunity
