Accounting Controller

As we continue to scale, we're building the internal infrastructure to match — and that starts with bringing on our first dedicated Controller. This is a ground-floor opportunity for someone who thrives on building systems, not just maintaining them. We are seeking an experienced hands-on Accounting Controller, not a supervisory-only seat. You'll own the full accounting cycle end-to-end and play a critical role in standardizing processes, strengthening financial controls, and ensuring our team uses our ERP system correctly and consistently. Full-cycle accounting: AR, AP, purchasing (PO), sales orders (SO), inventory management, GL, cash management, and financial reporting. Design and implementation of scalable accounting processes and procedures. Month-end and year-end close, financial statement preparation, and management reporting. Direct supervision and development of accounting and administrative staff. ERP system integrity — ensuring proper use across departments and training personnel where needed. Strong working knowledge of GAAP and its practical application in a distribution or product-based environment. Proven experience as a hands-on Controller or Senior Accountant ready to step into the role. Background in operational accounting — you understand how transactions flow from purchase order to financial statement. Experience with Sage Intacct preferred; comparable ERP experience considered A builder's mentality — you're energized by creating structures where little exists, not frustrated by it. Strong communication skills with the ability to translate accounting requirements to non-accounting staff.
