POSITION
The Controller will lead all day-to-day finance operations, audit coordination, support and reporting for the organization in compliance with company policies and contractual agreements through the supervision, management and coordination of accounting personnel in their charge.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Supervise staff, provide oversight and/or participate in the following functions:
  • GL postings, fixed assets/depreciation, overhead allocations and accrued liabilities.
  • Balance Sheet reconciliations and transactional review Monitor cash flow.
  • Monthly close and Financial Statement preparation.
  • AP, AR & Payroll transactional functions.
  • Budgeting and variance analysis.
  • Tax Reporting and compliance, payroll, property, sales and income tax filings.
  • Organize the processing and analyze the financial statements, monthly reports, cash flow and published statements.
  • Monitor integrity of the GL accounting system, specifically the chart of accounts and the program list.
  • Meet the contractual commitments to the client through timely accurate reporting and issue resolution.
  • Interface, coordinate resources and responses with external auditors.
  • Management of multiple functional teams with team leaders as direct reports.
  • Minimal travel required.
  • Manages staff results through coaching, counseling, disciplining employees, planning, monitoring, and appraising job results.
  • Other duties as assigned as part of the Financial Management Team

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • A minimum or a bachelor's degree in accounting or related field.
  • CPA License Required
  • Public Accounting Experience
  • Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Software experience
  • Experience in multi-entity and consolidation
  • Must have managed a department of at least 15 employees.
  • Must have documented leadership skills.
  • At least 15 years experience in GE accounting at both a transactional & analysis level. Experience with multi-company divisional financials, budgeting and job costing highly desired.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; experience in effectively communicating key data, including presentations to senior management, board or other outside partners
  • Problem solving skills are mandatory as well as ability to manage resources to complete team goals.
  • High standard of integrity.
  • Moderately proficient competency level with Microsoft Excel, as well as experience with e-mail.
  • Solomon experience a plus.
  • Ability and desire to translate complex financial concepts to individuals at all levels including finance and non-finance managers
EQUIPMENT NORMALLY USED
Computers, copy machine, telephone, fax machine, other office equipment as necessary.
PHYSICAL AND MENTAL DEMANDS
The employee must be able to sit for extended periods of time, utilizing a computer. The employee is regularly required to use their fingers, hands, arms and eyes to input data. The employee is frequently required to speak to and appropriately respond to customers, both internal and external, on the phone as well as to their team. The employee is required to operate and maintain a variety of office equipment including a computer, copy machines, scanning equipment and a calculator requiring repetitive motion of the fingers, hands, arms and eyes The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, bend, stoop and twist as part of their interactive functions. Vision ability is required to do the job including close vision, color vision and the ability to adjust focus. Ability to work under stressful conditions that may require dealing with difficult people and handling multiple work assignments with specific deadlines.
