Job Description:

We are partnering with a growing Architecture & Engineering organization to identify a strong Controller to lead core accounting operations and support a complex, multi-entity business environment. This individual will report directly to the CFO and oversee a high-performing accounting team in a project-based operating environment. The ideal candidate will bring a combination of technical accounting expertise, operational leadership, and experience managing accounting functions across multiple entities, states, and currencies. This is a highly visible leadership role within a collaborative and growth-oriented organization. Key Responsibilities Lead and manage the day-to-day accounting operations, including oversight of the accounting team and month-end close process Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting across multiple entities and locations Oversee compliance, audit coordination, and internal controls Support multi-state and multi-currency accounting operations Partner closely with operational leaders to support a project-based business environment Manage and improve accounting processes, policies, and reporting procedures Assist with tax coordination and compliance activities as needed Partner with the CFO on strategic initiatives, process improvements, and special projects Mentor and develop accounting staff, including a strong Assistant Controller already in place Qualifications Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or related field CPA strongly preferred 8+ years of progressive accounting experience with leadership responsibilities Prior Controller or Assistant Controller experience preferred Experience in Architecture & Engineering, professional services, construction, or other project-based industries highly preferred Strong understanding of multi-entity, multi-state, and multi-currency environments Experience leading audits and managing compliance requirements Working knowledge of tax and regulatory considerations Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
