Job Description
Description We are looking for a hands-on Controller to join our client in West Hollywood, California. In this role, you will oversee financial operations and drive strategic initiatives to ensure the company's financial health. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the success of a dynamic organization specializing in real estate and property management for a portfolio of 1500+ multifamily units.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the preparation and analysis of financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulations.
- Manage accounts payable and receivable processes, maintaining timely and efficient workflows.
- Lead month-end close activities, including reconciliations and journal entries.
- Develop and monitor budgets and forecasts to support strategic decision-making.
- Ensure compliance with tax filings and financial regulations, supporting audits as necessary.
- Collaborate with senior management to drive financial strategy and process improvements.
- Implement and maintain property accounting systems to streamline operations.
- Provide leadership and guidance to the finance team, fostering collaboration and continuous growth.
- Analyze financial data to identify trends and opportunities for cost savings and performance improvements. Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in accounting or finance roles, ideally within the real estate or property management industries.
- Strong expertise in financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.
- Proficiency in managing accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger activities.
- Solid understanding of compliance requirements related to tax filings and audits.
- Advanced skills in financial software tools and data analysis.
- Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to financial accuracy.
- Proven ability to lead teams and collaborate effectively across departments.
